Updating From Previous Versions:

We are going to issue the automatic updates starting from the next week. So you do not need to uninstall your current version and reinstall this one.

However, if you do not want to wait until the next week you can do one of the following:

1 - You can use the installers below to update your existing copy. Just run it and it should update by keeping your existing settings.

2 - You can uninstall the old version and install this new version: This option is also suitable for most people. I personally always go with this option.

Updating from CIS 5.5 to CIS 5.8

There will be a 2 stage updating mechanism for old users. The initial update will be updating the updater to the latest version which is capable of upgrading to CIS 5.8.

Updating from CIS 5.8.x.2124 to CIS 5.8.x.2131

If you have CIS 5.8.x.2124 installed, you will also receive a small update. Pls check the updated release notes for details.

We have resumed the updates again as some of you may have already noticed. Because of the update errors you faced yesterday, we have made a 2 stage update today to provide you a safe upgrade path.

If you are a CIS 5.5 user, you will get an initial update which updates the program updater. After the restart, this new updater will be able to smootly update your software to CIS 5.8.

CIS 5.8.x.2124 users will also need to get an update because of the changes we made in the updating mechnism. While updating you guys to build 2131, we have included 2 simple fixes as well. Pls check the initial post for more information.

Aha jag tyckte det var märkligt med en ca 1 sekund download som krävde omstart och sedan en normalstor download som också krävde omstart. Nu vet jag. Det funkade utan problem iaf.

Min uppdatering startade normalt, sedan stod den i ca. 1 tim, o tuggade. Jag valde då att avbryta och hämta installations filen på Comodos forum, det fungerade bra!

Verkar som tidigare erbjudandet om Comodo Internet Security Pro 2011 har upphört.

Var nyss inne & testade länkarna men tyvär enbart 30 dagars Trial tillgänglig för närvarande.

Har rensat bort mitt gamla inlägg av denna orsak + rätt ska va rätt.

Såg även i efterhand en annan medlem redan hade informerat om saken.

CIS 5.12 för Windows 8.

Hello Everyone,

As some of you probably know, Windows 8 RTM has been released. This means people who have MSDN subscription or device manufacturers are already using Windows 8.

CIS/CAV/CFW 5.10 do not support windows 8. CIS 6, which is scheduled to be released end of OCtober, is going to be supporting Windows 8. However until that time, you may still need COMODO protection in your Windows 8 computers. So for those Windows 8 users, we created CIS 5.12 accessible from http://antivirus.comodo.com/windows-8/

CIS 5.12 fully supports windows 8.

FAQ

1 - I do NOT use Windows 8 and I have CIS 5.10, do I need to install CIS 5.12?

No. You do not need to install CIS 5.12. We will be upgrading you to CIS 6 in a few weeks.

2 - Are CIS 5.10 users going to get updates?

No. We will not issue updates to existing users because we will be updating them to CIS 6 shortly.

3 - Is CIS 5.12 going to provide more security than CIS 5.10?

No. The only difference in CIS 5.12 is Windows 8 support.

4 - I am using Windows 7/XP/Vista, can I install CIS 5.12?

You can still install CIS 5.12 if you would like to do so.

5 - If I install CIS 5.12, am I going to be updated to CIS 6 when it is released?

Yes you will receive the updates.

Spontant gillar jag inte det där, börjar påminna om gamla Avast leksaksutseendet. Less is more, inte minst när det gäller att presentera viktig information överskådligt. Vad tycker du som har provat det?

Får nog återkomma efter att ha bekantat mig med det nya gränssnittet. Har i stort sett endast installerat (i VBox) och uppdaterat.

En video kommer att dyka upp så snart Languy99 har tid att göra en.

Verkar rätt & slätt innehålla en hel del nytänkande med ett gränssnitt som ser ganska lovande ut.

Trevligt där med Startmenyn i Kioskläget, en liten kompensation för dom som kommer installera CIS i Windows 8

Virtuella skrivbord är iofs inget nytt, finns bl.a på USB minne som man kan ta med sig och på så vis köra samma skrivbordsuppsättning oberoende vilken dator man använder stickan http://en.prayaya.com/index.html

Nu har jag inte testat något här heller men funderar genast på om de fanns en möjlighet till själv kunna ställa in uppdateringsfrekvensen i CIS. I den äldre senaste versionen ligger den och laddar hem nästan för ihärdigt.

Tänker speciellt alla med begränsad bandbredd 3G/4G abonnemang. Handlar det om datorer i företagsnätverk som hanterar stora värden så förstår man att de kan vara viktigt & hålla klienterna konstant uppdaterade men hemma och i fallet enstaka system så känner i alla fall jag de som nästan onödigt, räcker gott om man kör ett intervall om en gång i timmen eller en gång var tredje timme eller två & tre gånger per dag helt ok.
