Vista Updates cease to be success

Has anyone had same problem. Windows updates ceased to give updates and returns error codes.

I remember having to restore windows late last year and I think maybe that may have done something.

Today my windows explorer keeps crashing and I keep getting a message that a program is being installed and

this prevents me doing anychanges.

I tryed to load ITunes, but it says the same, waiting first before program already being installed.

I cannot find this program. i want to remove the old iTunes first installed, ver 7, but it keeps denying me to delete them.

I hope someone can help
