Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ):

1 - Do I have to uninstall the previous versions of CIS(e.g. 3.8 ) to get this version?

No. Automatic updater is going to do the job for you. However CIS 3.5 users will have to uninstall those versions and reinstall this version because of the huge download requirements.

2 - I updated it but the automatic updater reported updates again. Whats going on?

This is expected. If you are updating from CIS 3.8, there will be a 2 stage update. First update is going to update the automatic updater and make sure it can update to CIS 3.9. Then the second update is going to make sure that update to CIS 3.9 is completed.

3 - Is BOClean integrated into CIS now? Do I still need BOClean if I have CIS 3.9?

Yes BOClean is integrated in CIS 3.9 and no you do not need BOClean if you have CIS 3.9 installed.

4 - I dont see my languge in the supported languages. Why?

First of all, we would like to thank all of our volunteers who made those translations for CIS. Because this is a volunteer work, at the time of this release, we might not have had the volunteers for that particular language. Or sometimes even if there are volunteers, their schedules may not match the release schedule of CIS.

5 - Which languages does this release support?

In this release, we have officially translated Chineese(Simplified) and Russian versions in house. The other languages are translated by our volunteer users. For the full list please check above.

6 - Does this multilingual support mean that COMODO provides email/phone support in these new languages too?

No. COMODO offers phone/email support only in English(For paid products only). However our forums have international boards which can allow you to get help in your own language.

7 - I was a beta tester. Do I have to uninstall the BETA and reinstall this version?

The automatic updater will update yours too. But a reinstall is always better than this for BETA versions.

Vill också nämna att CIS 3.8 inte längre uppdateras med nya definitioner, så alla som använder CIS 3.8 bör snarast uppdatera till CIS 3.9.

Jag lät CIS uppdatera sig själv till den skarpa men det var tydligen inte bra för den vill inte uppdatera virusdatabasen utan står kvar på 1157 så det blir till att kasta ut denna och köra en clean install istället( Ville testa om det fungerade att uppdatera från RC2an)

skulle installera 3.9 men jag var tvungen o ta bort i regedit och så inte nod32 och spysweeper inte körs men det tar längre tid o ladda upp den nya tycker jag.

Står det något om detta på Comodos site? Jag har inte hittat. Finns ju inte ens att ladda ner 3.9 från siten, bara via forumet.

Jag har 3.8 på min stationära, med virusbatabas 1157. På laptopen med 3.9 har jag 1160.

Jag tycker det är väldigt dåligt av Comodo att förfara på det här sättet, att inte meddela och inte ens ha möjlighet att ladda ner ny version på siten.

Nu ska inte LeoniAquila och JoWa ta åt sig av kritiken. Vet att ni jobbat mycket med CIS 3.9, men tror inte att ni kan göra något åt dessa "problem" som jag skrev om här.

(Rätta mig gärna om jag har fel i mina påståenden )

Har varit det rätt länge redan. Men om jag INTE varit med på det här forumet och på Comodo forumet, vilket säkert är fallet för många CIS användare, så hade jag inte ens vetat att 3.9 är på väg.

Och hade inte JoWa meddelat här i tråden att 3,8 inte uppdateras längre, hade jag inte vetat om det heller.

Jag har inte sett något på hemsidan om att uppdateringarna för 3.8 har upphört. I det sammanhanget kan också nämnas att Comodo BOClean får sin sista uppdatering 26 maj.

Efter lanseringen av 3.9.76924.507 upptäcktes ett fel som gör att de som uppdaterar från en tidigare version inte kan uppdatera databasen. Därför har uppdateringen 3.8 > 3.9 fördröjts en aning. Det är nog av samma anledning 3.9 ännu inte finns på nedladdningssidan. En programuppdatering skall komma i dag. (Källa)

PS. Man behöver inte vara medlem på Comodos forum för att kunna ladda ned CIS 3.9. Däremot för att ladda ned beta- och RC-versionerna, om man inte laddade ned dem via denna tråd. DS.

Automatic updates will not change your existing settings. This means it will not add the small changes in the new default firewall policy. But this can be overcome by using Stealth My Ports Wizard.

But please note that because of the optimizations in this version, if you do a clean install, you can get a faster and a more compact D+ policy while CIS learns your existing settings in a new way.

Dock blir skanningsprofiler m.m. på engelska, även om resten är på svenska, om man uppdaterar från 3.8 till 3.9.
