Verkar som detta var boven i dramat instalerade och startade om sedan fungerade update igen :)

Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. Windows error fix. You may need to restart your computer. Fix.

This problem is caused by large drive 750GB and larger. This issue happened to me after I upgraded my drive from a 300GB to a 1TB Toshiba drive. Note I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit version on an HP laptop. Here is the link for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver (IRST) from HP:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/do....

If that does not work try this: IRST for Desktop Boards STOR_Win7_8_11.7.0.1013_PV.exe , dated 12/06/2012 ver 11.7.0.1013 Make sure you click on (Which file should I download) before you download the file.

Here is the Intel support site for this technology:

Please pick the correct driver for your operating system Windows 7, 8 etc. and the correct architecture 32 bit or 64 bit. If you don't know which you have, Intel has a how to on that on this same page too.
