Häromdagen släppte microsoft en laddning säkerhetsuppdateringar som skall installeras efter att man fått upp den lilla gula markeringen i aktivitetsfältet. Jag fick ett tiotal uppdateringar och började installera dom. Allt gick bra förutom med en kumulativ uppdateringar av Internet Explorer 7.0.

Den började installeras men avbröt och det kom upp en ruta om "åtkomst nekad". Jag provade flera gånger med samma resultat. Följden blev att uppdateringen återkom hela tiden och begärde att bli installerad, men det gick inte. Moment 22. Det verkade som någon fil i datorn inte tillät att bli utbytt.

Jag provade med programmet unlocker och start i felsäkert läge. Samma resultat.

Slutligen provade jag att köra in en backup på datorn från i april 2007 och då kunde jag installera uppdateringen. Till saken hör att jag lyckats installera en liknande uppdatering av IE 7.0 i juni 2007.

Varför beter sig datorn på det viset? Vad är det som låser och omöjliggör uppdateringen? Tips om åtgärder för att lösa problemet utan att behöva använda en "gammal backup".

En bra regel är att om det inte går att installera uppdateringen via Windows Update/Automatiska uppdateringar så går det oftast att installera om man ladda ner den fristående uppdateringen från Microsoft Download Center istället.

Om inte det heller hjälper så kan du hitta alla fel från Windows/Microsoft Update i filen WindowsUpdate.log som finns i C:Windows. Där skulle man kunna härleda felet till något specifikt och komma närmare en lösning!

Om inte det heller hjälper så kan du hitta alla fel från Windows/Microsoft Update i filen WindowsUpdate.log som finns i C:Windows. Där skulle man kunna härleda felet till något specifikt och komma närmare en lösning!

Den var omfattande och bra att känna till för framtiden. Ska se om jag kan hitta något som kan förklara felet. Tack för svaret. ;D

Du har även "specialkör" i Dial-a-Fix tex att återställa rättigheter/permissions som kan spöka.

Har fått gjort det nån gång på en burk.

If you receive this error when Dial-a-fix is trying to register an object, the first thing you should do is attempt to run the "Repair Permissions" tool (found under the Tools dialog), as it can often correct this issue.

Svarar mej själv, problemet är löst.

Jag hade två tidigare uppdateringar av IE 7 installerade. Jag avinstallerade båda och vips gick det att installera KB937143 och resten av månadens uppdateringar. Jag såg på loggen följande

Installationsprogrammet för KB937143 upptäckte ett fel:  Filen update.ver är felaktig.

Troligen var det någon konflikt mellan filversionerna i någon av de tidigare uppdateringarna och KB937143.

Men nu är det löst och jag kan gå och sova några timmar.  ;D
